Meet Suad
Suad is our newest Habitat homeowner, moving into her home with her family at the end of September. Upon being notified of her Key Day, she told us how she felt:
"I received your email while I was in the kitchen, and the moment I read it, I couldn't contain my excitement. I started jumping up and down, and my whole family joined in the celebration. My children hugged me and jumped beside me - it was an overwhelming and joyful experience for all of us.
Partnering with Habitat for Humanity has been a truly wonderful experience, and it has taught us so much about the importance of giving back.
Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel has brought so much gratitude and excitement into our lives. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity and for all the hard work that has gone into making our dream come true."

What is Habitat Waterloo Region working on now?
We're just finishing up our Kehl Street build, with the final 6 families moving in between now and the end of the year - that project has provided homes for 45 families! Next year we have two new projects beginning - 24 stacked townhouses in Cambridge and 4 semi-detached homes in Kitchener.
You may also have seen us in the news promoting the BUILD NOW: Waterloo Region initiative to build 10,000 homes in Waterloo Region. We're looking for donors, new and old, to help us make a BIG impact on affordable housing in our region!
Where will my donation go?
Building homes is an expensive endeavour so we rely on the support of donors like you to help us build more homes for local families. Donations help us cover the extensive costs associated with building homes, allowing us to give families a hand-up with the opportunity of owning an affordable home.
Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?
Donations for $20+ are eligible for a tax receipt.
Do I have to donate online?
No! If you would prefer to donate in-person, by phone or mail, you can contact us at development@habitatwr.ca or 519-747-0664 and we can assist you with whatever method you prefer to donate.
When does the silent auction end?
The silent auction will close at 8:00pm on Sunday, October 29th. Be sure to get your bids in by then!
What is overtime bidding and how does it work?
Overtime bidding allows people a fair chance to get their bids in - if an item is continuously getting bids at the close of the auction, bidding can continue until there is no activity for 2 minutes. This restricts people from trying to get their bid in at the last second, when there may be people willing to bid higher.
How can I volunteer with Habitat Waterloo Region?
